We are excited about our missions trip to Honduras this summer and we appreciate your interest in joining our team.  The purpose of this trip is to work within the city of La Cieba, Honduras to develop and run Christ centered programs that will assist the local Bible believing churches and missionaries to reach lost souls.  It is also an opportunity for American youth and young adults to experience foreign missions and open their hearts to the Lord’s service.

During this trip, we will have continuous opportunities to minister and share the gospel through sports ministry, teen programs, daily service projects, and bible studies.  This trip will require spiritual maturity and the willingness to sacrifice, adapt, and learn. 

The trip dates are from Tuesday, June 6, 2006 to Wednesday, June 14, 2006.  The following information will guide you through the application process, detail trip costs and list important deadlines.

COST
MISSIONSPORTS supplements the cost of the trip by utilizing the profits from the sales of our athletic uniforms and equipment.  The expenses for a trip of this nature are high and we are thankful that we are able to cover a portion of the trip cost.  The trip cost includes all aspects of the trip excluding souvenirs. The total cost per participant for the Honduras 2006 trip is $1,000.00.  Missionsports will fund the remaining amount.

A valid U.S. passport is required to enter and depart Honduras.  If you do not have a passport, you will need to apply for one as soon as possible.  The normal turn-around time for a passport is 6-8 weeks.  For online passport information, the following links may be used:

Visa

A visa will not need to be obtained for our trip to Honduras.

Recommended Vaccinations

Medical Insurance
We recommend that you consult with your medical insurance company to confirm whether your policy applies overseas and if it will cover emergency expenses such as a medical evacuation. U.S. medical insurance plans seldom cover health costs incurred outside the United States unless supplemental coverage is purchased. Further, U.S. Medicare and Medicaid programs do not provide payment for medical services outside the United States. Many private companies offer reasonable insurance plans that will cover health care expenses incurred overseas, including emergency services such as medical evacuations.
